Combustion has fueled our civilization since antiquity converting Carbon-based fossil compounds (coal, oil, natural gas) into energy, H2O and CO2. The threat of climate change and the prospect of exhaustion of our feedstock and energy reserves, has put this practice into question. What if we could ascend the energy staircase “re-energizing” H2O and CO2 back into fuels and chemicals and thus establishing a circular, Carbon-neutral, energy path for future growth, based on sustainable energy carriers (including hydrogen and hydrocarbons) and maintaining our past investments into existing infrastructures?
